At Shirlaws, we use a framework called Stages that outlines the journey of a business, business unit or individual. It is a graph that depicts each stage of a typical business cycle. Stages is used as a management tool to determine where a business is, by understanding … the feelings within the business. Stages helps you frame the discussion with your client about their past journey, to identify where their business is heading – a road map for future growth.
Stages differs to other frameworks as it focuses on feelings within the business.
There are different feelings that influence business decisions at each stage, e.g. a business in start-up usually describes the experience as exciting; whereas the owner of a business that is in the fast Growth stage is likely to describe the experience as being quite frustrating.
